Orders
The process an Asset goes through to get to its User.
Order Workflows
This decides the way Assets interact with the order.
Standard Allocation
In this workflow, Assets are stored and typically borrowed by a User, allocating it to them through the Order. This is useful if you are keeping Assets and not permanently delivering them, allowing you to track the status of the Assets themselves.
Scanned Asset Registration
Most useful for delivering items without returning them; typical product tracking and delivery. Assets are made on scan (though can be stored beforehand), and are treated like a record of what has been sent out.
Order Types and Statuses
Orders can take different steps and processes dependent on type.
Here are the core Order Statuses an Order Type can have:
- Created - Set when an Order is created or imported.
- Allocated - Set when an Asset has finally reached its User, or at least ready to go to that User.
- Partially Completed - When a User has multiple Assets allocated to them that must be returned, this is when they are partially Returned.
- Returned - All of a User's borrowed Assets inside their Order have been sent back and scanned.
Assets
The items to be kept track of inside Orders.
Asset Types
Categorising groups of Assets, such as a Hat versus a Shoe.
Properties
The qualities of an Asset that can be assigned a value, such as Size, Weight, Colour, etc..
Identification Rules
If you have a second field you need to scan, especially if that field is a Barcode, you can use their prefixes to identify further categories in an Asset Type and selections of values in Properties.
Users
The end recipients of an Order, such as target addresses and customers.
These Users may borrow an item to be returned, where the associated Asset will be owned by a particular user during that time. If owned, other Users cannot borrow that Asset.
User Identification
Events and Groups
The ways an order can be grouped up.
Events
Grouping by spans of time, such as days and ceremonial events.
Groups
Groups of people, usually groups of Users, or groups related to the users in some way. An example is a council as a Group and addresses under that council as Users.
Event Groups
A combination of Events and Groups; Event Groups are groups of Orders a Group may give for an Event, or activities a Group can take within an event. There can be multiple Event Groups for a single Group.
