Record asset locations in the mobile app
Use Move Items to record where scanned assets were observed. Before starting, your organisation must have Location tracking enabled, at least one active location, and a suitable mobile device policy. Ask your administrator or Ledger contact if Locations is not available.
Choose a destination and scan
- From the app home screen, tap Move Items.
- Choose a destination using the location card. Depending on your organisation’s policy, the app may ask you to confirm a destination, remember the last one, or use a default.
- If your destination has positions, choose or scan the correct position label when prompted.
- Scan the assets you are moving to that place. The pending list shows what will be recorded.
- Check the destination and asset list. Remove any asset that should not be included.
- Tap Move Items to save the location records.

The app reports the result after saving. If some locations could not be recorded, use the retry action in the location panel when connectivity is available.
Change destinations
If you are recording assets in a different area, change the destination before scanning that batch. Follow the destination policy shown in the app. Do not mix assets from different locations in one batch.
If the app remembers the previous destination, verify it before scanning. A remembered destination can be out of date if the device has moved.
Browse locations
Use the Locations view to browse active locations and see the assets last recorded there. Choose a location to inspect its asset list. This view is for checking records; use Move Items to record a new location.
Understand location history
Recording a new location updates where the asset was last observed and adds a history entry. It does not change the asset’s allocation. Allocations describe assignment; locations describe where the scan took place.
